Bayswater Hall in Kensington

Description

Bayswater Hall is a remarkable Grade II listed Victorian Gothic venue just north of Kensington Gardens, offering an impressive architectural setting for concerts, performances, cultural events, filming and creative productions. Completed in 1882 by architect John Johnson II, the church has retained much of its original character, with an exceptionally wide nave, soaring proportions, stained glass windows, carved details, traditional pews and handsome choir stalls. Its distinctive architecture creates a memorable backdrop for both live events and visual productions. The generous nave and natural acoustics make Bayswater Hall particularly well suited to concerts, recitals, choirs, musical rehearsals and performances. The venue has a long musical tradition and is home to a beautifully restored 1913 JW Walker & Sons organ, recognised by the British Institute of Organ Studies with a Grade II* historic certificate. The space can also accommodate filming, photography, art projects, educational activities and community events. Film companies have previously used the venue and its supporting areas for catering, makeup and dressing-room requirements, making it a practical option for productions as well as a visually distinctive location. Located in Bayswater, close to Kensington Gardens and within easy reach of Queensway, Bayswater and Notting Hill Gate, the venue combines historic character with convenient Central London access.
